As society responds to the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the safety of everyone is of utmost importance. We are continuously monitoring all recommendations from the Ontario Ministry of Health, the Federal Government and other local authorities. For now, we have closed our offices to the public. However, our business remains open and our lawyers, law clerks and paralegals have all been set up to work remotely. Some are also working directly from the office. Our offices are technologically advanced and we make use of the latest software and applications to facilitate communication and exchange of documents in a safe and secure way.

Our lawyers are operating at home in the same way they would in the office. Our lawyers and staff continue to work existing files and accept new clients. We are able to communicate through emails, tele-conferences and video-conferences using the latest technology.

As far as we are aware, no one from our office has tested positive for COVID-19 and we are working hard every day to ensure this remains the case.

We are closely monitoring how the Ontario courts and administrative boards and tribunals are changing and adapting to best service the public. We expect that the courts will expand their ability on how documents are filed, how appearances are completed and how cases will be adjudicated. We expect an expanding use of telephone and video conferencing, managed by the courts.
